Where artistic exploration generates scientific insight
The Choreography of Life
The Choreography of Life explores how relationship is a fundamental principle—life is the emergence of community, and isolation is the opposite of life. To capture this, multiscale molecular dynamic simulation frameworks were developed and blended with music to emphasize the resemblance of the molecular world to the social scale, showing how pathology at one scale reflects pathology emerging through both geographical and ideological isolation at the social scale. This work generated hypotheses that secured a five-year, $23 million DARPA biostasis program for the Wyss Institute at Harvard, addressing radiation resilience in humans and food preservation for waste reduction and food insecurity.
